But, most importantly, there is a gross ignorance about nutrition. Most people just do not know what it means to eat well.</p>
<p> Thus, there are a lot of reasons why our food quality has gone abysmally down. And, there is no respite in sight. We are not going to become regular with our mealtimes—our lifestyle has changed too drastically to go back now—and we are not going to see fruits and vegetables of impeccable qualities like they were obtained previously.</p>

<p> It is an undeniable fact that we need diets to supplement our lifestyles today. We need the added nourishment and that is not available from most of the foods that we are consuming right now. Our unhealthy food habits aren’t helping us much either. That is the reason why we need to plan out a good dietary program. However, always remember to consult your doctor about what you intend to start.</p>
<p> You have to think carefully about the diet that you plan for yourself. The diet should supplement your missing requirements, and at the same time, it should become a part of your lifestyle in a healthy manner.</p>

<p>Introduction</p>
<p>Joint pain and inflammation are symptoms that will concern nearly each and every one of us eventually. Arthritic pain and inflammation are not particular to humans, but also affect other mammals &#8211; even wild mammals that eat only natural food. This evidence, along with research compiled by Douglas Muhall in his book, The Calcium Bomb, indicates that joint pain and inflammation may be caused by infectious organisms that reproduce slowly and become more pronounced with age.</p>
<p>Because we know that certain foods, superfoods, herbs, and supplements fight infectious organisms (e.g. garlic fights viruses, pau d&#8217;arco kills fungus, coconut oil dissolves certain types of bacteria) we may deduce that correctly chosen foods, superfoods, and herbs may fight the organisms that affect our joints.</p>
<p>We also know that certain foods, superfoods, herbs, and supplements supply enough minerals to get us out of deficiencies and actually fortify our bodies and protect us from degeneration.</p>
<p><strong>A Little Background</strong></p>
<p>Our joints are some of the least oxygenated regions of our body. Very few capillaries interface with the tissue in and around our joints. Therefore, due to low blood flow, our joints are subject to low oxygenation and an inability of white blood cells to reach our joints to fight infections.</p>
<p>I believe this basic weakness of mammalian biology is something we can defend, fortify, and rejuvenate with the correct nutrition strategy.</p>

<p>Leading researchers and medical doctors consider hemp seed to be one of the most nutritious food sources on the planet. Shelled hemp seed is packed with 33 percent pure digestible protein and is rich in iron and vitamin E as well as omega-3 ALA and omega 6 GLA. Hemp also contains three times the vitamin E contained in flax. A recent report funded by the Canadian government states that hemp protein is comprised of 66 percent high-quality edestin protein, and that hemp seed contains the highest percentage of this of any plant source. Edestin contains the following amino acids in significant quantities: tryptophan, phenylalanine, tyrosine, and lysine.</p>
<p>In 1915, the Journal of Biological Chemistry discussed edestin at length. A later issue published a vegetable protein study. In the study, edestin was considered suitable as a sole protein source for animals. The study also stated that &#8220;the relatively large amounts of lysine present in the&#8230;hempseed&#8230;is especially noteworthy.&#8221;</p>

The value of organic raw foods, superfoods, and herbs is critically important for a safe, healthy, and happy future for all of us, our children, and our children&#8217;s children. The evidence is increasingly pointing towards an organic future.</p>
<p>Organic foods are known to have the following characteristics:</p>
<p>Organic food is richer in minerals:</p>
<p>Organic farmers, in general, are more interested than conventional farmers in growing mineral-rich produce. The famous Rutgers study demonstrated that organic food was superior in the following minerals: phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, boron, manganese, iron, copper, and cobalt. It all starts with mineral-rich soil. When more minerals are available to the plant, the plant&#8217;s vitamin, polysaccharide, and enzyme content, as well as overall immune system are improved. When we eat mineral-rich food we absorb the nutrients that made the plant healthy. We also enjoy more conscious choices and freedom as the cells throughout our body become healthier and more vital. Entire books have been written on how rich soils help build enormous civilizations and how subsequent mismanagement of crops and the soil leads to a loss of soil minerals and the subsequent collapse of these civilizations.</p>
<p>Organic agriculture is sustainable:</p>
<p>Organic food production has existed for thousands of years. It will continue as long as humans walk the planet. Organic agriculture is non-toxic (it leaves no permanent toxicity). The pesticide and artificial fertilizer industries are toxic and not sustainable. These industries have covered the entire planet with dangerous chemicals. The story of DDT is known to nearly all of us. DDT went into commercial distribution in 1948. Because of its unsustainable toxicity, DDT was banned in the United States in 1972 and soon after was banned worldwide. DDT is a known neurotoxin and carcinogen. Who was brought to justice after the facts about DDT were revealed? How many people, children, and animals were (are) injured by this chemical? How much longer is it possible to continue to spray the Earth with poisons?</p>
<p>Organic agricultural supports being chemical-free:</p>
<p>With the explosion of cancer and disease in Western culture, who has the authority to say that any artificial chemicals are safe on our food?</p>
<p>Consider the summary from the following 2003 research article in which pesticide exposure was at least six times higher in the diets of children eating conventional food (as compared to organic food):</p>
<p>&#8220;We assessed organophosphorus (OP) pesticide exposure from diet by biological monitoring among Seattle, Washington, preschool children. Parents kept food diaries for 3 days before urine collection, and they distinguished organic and conventional foods based on label information. Children were then classified as having consumed either organic or conventional diets based on analysis of the diary data. Residential pesticide use was also recorded for each home. We collected 24-hr urine samples from 18 children with organic diets and 21 children with conventional diets and analyzed them for five OP pesticide metabolites. We found significantly higher median concentrations of total dimethyl alkylphosphate metabolites than total diethyl alkylphosphate metabolites (0.06 and 0.02 µmol/L, respectively ; p = 0.0001) . The median total dimethyl metabolite concentration was approximately six times higher for children with conventional diets than for children with organic diets (0.17 and 0.03 µmol/L ; p = 0.0003) ; mean concentrations differed by a factor of nine (0.34 and 0.04 µmol/L) . We calculated dose estimates from urinary dimethyl metabolites and from agricultural pesticide use data, assuming that all exposure came from a single pesticide. The dose estimates suggest that consumption of organic fruits, vegetables, and juice can reduce children&#8217;s exposure levels from above to below the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency&#8217;s current guidelines, thereby shifting exposures from a range of uncertain risk to a range of negligible risk. Consumption of organic produce appears to provide a relatively simple way for parents to reduce their children&#8217;s exposure to OP pesticides.&#8221;</p>

<p>Organic food is safer on our hormone system:</p>
<p>The endocrine or hormone system may be more susceptible to toxicity than the nervous system. A growing body of research is indicating that an inappropriate exposure to certain pesticides during the developmental cycle of growth in humans and animals can cause serious long-lasting endocrine and hormone disorders.</p>
<p>The Environmental Working Group recently published the following statements (www.foodnews.org/reduce.php): &#8220;Many pesticides are now considered &#8216;endocrine disrupters,&#8217; in part because the term is something of a catch phrase for chemicals that cause a variety of changes in normal hormone signaling. Some better known examples of highly toxic endocrine disrupting pesticides are DDT (and its metabolite DDE) which are now known to exhibit much of their toxicity through anti-androgenic (de-masculinizing) properties, vinclozolin, a heavily used fungicide that is also anti-androgenic, endosulfan, a DDT relative with estrogenic properties that is found more often in food than any other pesticide, and atrazine, a weed killer with broad hormonal activity, that contaminates the drinking water of about 20 million people in the United States.</p>
<p>Eating organic foods, superfoods, and herbs is safe, easy, and fun!</p>
<p>You can grow organic foods anywhere with seeds, nice soil, sunshine, sufficient moisture, smiles, and lots of love. Gardening skills are attractive and sexy and make for a safe, healthy hobby. Organic foods have been proven over thousands of years to be safe to eat.</p>
<p>Conventional foods have been proven over 50 years to be unsafe to eat. I saw a conventional lettuce farmer near Santa Barbara, California climb out of his tractor in a space suit on in order to protect himself from the chemicals he was spraying. <p> Imagine an unwanted houseguest in your living room, demanding a steady stream of sugary carbohydrates. That’s Candida, and a more unpleasant houseguest I cannot imagine. Candida is a type of fungus that excretes toxic waste that can get into the bloodstream and cause symptoms of bloating, clouded thinking, depression, diarrhea, exhaustion, halitosis (bad breath), menstrual pains, thrush (pasty saliva), unclear memory recall, yeast vaginitis, and fungal nail conditions.   Conventional diets high in cooked starches (bread, baked potato, cakes, cookies, pasta) and diets loaded with refined or hybridized (seedless) fruit sugars both feed candida. When all this sugar is added into a body whose levels of good intestinal bacteria (probiotics) are low and whose tissues have become acidic due to a prolonged lack of alkaline mineral salts (which come from vegetables and superfoods) in the diet, then candida proliferates. Those suffering from candida typically have had a history of antibiotic use. Antibiotics eliminate much of the good intestinal bacteria and allow candida to spread.   Systemic yeast infections (candidiasis) find growth potential in a damp, musty condition in the body. Candida is first a yeast, and then a fungus when its rhizoids (long roots) penetrate the tissue mucosa and bridge the boundary between the internal body and the digestive tract. High doses of healthy intestinal probiotics (acidophilus, <a class="zem_slink" title="Bifidobacterium" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bifidobacterium" rel="wikipedia">Bifidus</a> infantis, L. salivarius, L. plantarum, <a class="zem_slink" title="Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lactobacillus_delbrueckii_subsp._bulgaricus" rel="wikipedia">L. bulgaricus</a>, etc.) that will colonize in the intestines are required to overcome candida.   Prebiotics are also valuable. These are foods that nourish probiotics (healthy bacterial flora). Prebiotics include foods such a chicory root, dandelion root, yacon root, and yacon root syrup. One can find great benefit from sugar fasting, that is, eating no sweet fruit for several weeks or months and simultaneously dosing up on probiotics. Sprouted grain can yield a slight quantity of usable sugar. When fasting from sugar for long periods, the little bit of sugar from sprouted grain can be beneficial and will not foster candida growth. Sprouted grains must be clean of fungus and of a high-quality or heirloom seed stock. In the long term, when the desire for real sugar appears, it must be addressed with high-quality, seeded, sweet fruit, and not with cooked starch. Some sweet food must be eaten or the body will eventually go off balance. One or two pieces of non-hybridized fruit each day should be fine. Fermentation of the fruit from too many combinations must be avoided. If cooked foods are eaten, they should be non-starchy vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, and artichoke. Supplements that can be helpful in the fight against candida include olive leaf extract, grapefruit seed extract, supplemental enzymes (Beauty Enzymes), MSM (<a class="zem_slink" title="Methylsulfonylmethane" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methylsulfonylmethane" rel="wikipedia">methyl-sulfonyl-methane</a>) powder, small amounts of fully-mineralized sea salt or rock salt, NCD liquid zeolite, and powdered vitamin C-rich berries such as camu camu berry powder. MSM detoxifies mercury. As mentioned, mercury poisoning seems to be a common underlying factor in candida. Herbs that are great allies against candida include oregano, garlic, pau d&#8217;arco tea, and cat&#8217;s claw tea.  One may cautiously return to eating more sugary fruits once the body is cleansed and the candida symptoms have disappeared. I recommend following a cleansing and intestinal rebuilding program either before or after a sugar fast, such as the EJUVA program.</p>
<p> The following are important guidelines for herbal cleansing while overcoming candida:</p>
<p> 1. Do not have fruit juice if you have candida, especially while on an herbal cleanse. Use only vegetable juice or water for the recommended herbal shakes.</p>
<p> 2. Take a high-quality probiotic formula containing at least acidophilus, bifidus, and L.bulgaricus, at least 1 hour before bedtime throughout all the cleansing steps, 1/2 hour after each set of herbs, and 1/2 hour after each meal.</p>
<p> 3. Take ample amounts of the probiotic <a class="zem_slink" title="Bifidobacterium longum" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bifidobacterium_longum" rel="wikipedia">Bifidobacterium infantis</a> through rectal implants (either through enemas or have your colon hydrotherapist do the implant). Bifidobacterium infantis is found in breast-fed infants, and is probably the most basic of all intestinal bacteria in the human species. Be sure to have your colon hydrotherapist provide you with an implant of bifidus bacteria following each session.</p>
<p> There is a psychology necessary to heal chronic candida. Candida is associated with subconscious, self-destructive feelings of rejection and lack of self-worth. Negative, self-destructive thoughts destroy <a class="zem_slink" title="Probiotic" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Probiotic" rel="wikipedia">good bacteria</a> in the intestinal tract and allow candida to proliferate. Positive, self-confident thoughts help good bacteria proliferate in the intestines.   An emotional cleansing is required to overcome chronic candida. Be aware that unresolved issues usually involve parents or past lovers. While healing candida (and while moving into raw foods in general), one should seek out counselors, friends, books, <a class="zem_slink" title="DVD" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD" rel="wikipedia">DVDs</a>, and/or audiotapes that can assist with emotional release. In review, a candida condition can be remedied by the elimination of cooked starch and antibiotics, lots of sunshine on the skin, an increase of oxygen, wholesome raw nutrition, fasting from sugar, adequate dosages of coconut oil, powdered grasses, superfoods, probiotics, prebiotics, specific supplements, special herbs, and a rebuilding program with colon cleansing as well as emotional cleansing. Those with candida should keep a clean house. Musty, moldy homes are bad for the candida sufferer. Seek out appropriate home air purifier technology. I prefer the Aranizer products.  Panty hose should not be worn; they trap moisture and lead to yeast vaginitis. All body orifices should be allowed to breathe oxygen.</p>

1 avocado, sliced<br />
Black pepper<br />
Directions:</p>
<p>Section the orange and use a knife to cut off the skin from the sections. Try to drizzle any remaining juice into a small bowl.<br />
In the small bowl containing the orange juice, whisk together the remaining juice, olive oil, lime juice, and sea salt.<br />
In a serving bowl, add spinach and sliced avocado. Pour dressing over top and gently toss. Sprinkle with black pepper.</p>

<p>1 cup purple cabbage<br />
1/2 cucumber, diced<br />
1/2 tomato, diced<br />
1 small carrot, shredded<br />

2 tsp ground cumin<br />
2 Tbsp lemon juice<br />
1 tsp sea salt<br />
1/4 cup olive oil<br />
Directions:</p>
<p>Place all ingredients into a bowl. Gently toss.</p>

<p><strong>Simple Raw Green Salad</strong></p>
<p>1 cup red kale<br />
1/2 cup mustard greens<br />
1/2 cup spinach<br />
1 cup arugula<br />
Directions:</p>
<p>Remove ribs from kale and mustard greens.<br />
Chop all greens into bite size pieces and toss.<br />
Add your favorite dressing.</p>

<p><strong>Eggplant and Avocado Raw Salad</strong><br />
• 1 Large Eggplant<br />
• 2 or 3 Ripe-But-Firm Ripe Avocados<br />
• 2 garlic cloves, chopped finely<br />
• 1/2 Red Onion, chopped finely<br />
• Juice of 3 Lemons<br />
• 4 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil<br />
• Dulse Flakes and Pepper to Taste<br />
• 2 Tsp. Raw Honey</p>
<p>1. Pare and dice eggplant. Place in a deep bowl and immediately cover with cold water acidulated with juice of 1 lemon.<br />
2. Whisk together: oil, garlic, dulse flakes, pepper and juice of 1 lemon. Set aside.<br />
3. Peel and dice avocados. Place in bowl and toss immediately with juice of 1 lemon.<br />
4. Drain eggplant and combine with avocados. Add chopped onion.<br />
5. Whisk dressing again and add to mixture. Toss gently.<br />
6. Set aside for about 15 minutes. Chill if desired.<br />
7. Before serving, toss gently again and sprinkle with honey.</p>

<p><strong>Green Onion Raw Salad Dressing</strong></p>
<p>You can substitute the flaxseed oil for 1 cup of olive oil in this recipe, if you like.</p>
<p>Also, be sure to use a creamy, spreadable honey in this recipe, rather than a sticky one like most regular honey.</p>
<p>3 green onions<br />
1/2 cup olive oil<br />
1/2 cup flaxseed oil<br />
1/3 cup raw apple cider vinegar<br />
1/3 cup raw honey<br />
1 1/2 tsp sea salt<br />
Directions:</p>
<p>Place all ingredients in blender and mix until creamy.</p>
